The Platform Sutra of the Sixth Patriarch

Awakening Begins with Life’s Challenges
– Lectured by Venerable Chang Hui (Full-Time Lecturer at the Dharma Drum Institute of Liberal Arts)

The Platform Sutra of the Sixth Patriarch is a foundational classic in Chan Buddhism. In his concise yet profound teachings, the Sixth Patriarch Huineng emphasized that spiritual practice is not a matter of seeking outside oneself, but of awakening to one’s true nature in the present moment of mind.

This course will guide you in exploring the core wisdom of the Platform Sutra of the Sixth Patriarch, including: seeing the self-nature of all phenomena, no-thought, no-form, no-attachment, as well as how to recognize our habitual attachments amid the vexations, emotions, and relationships of daily life. By learning to let go, we can return to a mind of clarity and ease.

This is not merely a course; it is a journey of self-discovery and awakening through the challenges of everyday life.
