Watching the falling leaves, listening to the sounds of the flowing stream, chewing each bite on my plate mindfully, these are a few treasured moments that I experienced during this retreat. Ch’an is every fresh, present moment in our lives, but I often forget. Instead, I was busy looking for something in the wrong direction. Life became exhausting and unsatisfying.
The retreat has somehow polished the dull mind, so it was able to see the trueness of being which surrounds me and is always available at every moment.
This is the first time that I received Master Shen Yen’s teaching. His compassion to all beings has deeply touched my heart and also inspired me to contribute this body and mind to the whole of my being.
This three day retreat is an opportunity for me to polish my dusty mind and strengthen my heart on this path of Buddhahood.
I am very grateful to receive all the help from the volunteers and whoever else made this event happen so successfully. The end of the three day retreat is the beginning of lifelong practice. The teaching continues as life goes on.
Thank you very much!
